Abstract

This paper analyses the arts-based mindfulness programs as new avenues to student wellbeing in institutions of higher learning. Through incorporation of creative modes: music, visual arts, drama, and reflective writing, mindfulness idea is reconstructed in ways outside more conventional stress-reduction objectives to foster ideas of wellfulness and mindflourish. The analysis explains the way such practices promote emotional management, resilience, empathy and comprehensive education, which, at the same time, contribute to the creation of stronger academic communities. The focus on creativity as a pedagogical approach and as a tool of self-realization, the study argues that arts-based mindfulness offers institutions of higher learning with a transformational model of fostering thriving, active, and sustainable student achievement in the academic context.
