Abstract

Direct selling is a business model rooted in personal trust and human interaction. While sales enablement strategies aim to support independent sellers, they often fall short in scaling personalized communication an area where manual efforts become inefficient. This paper explores the potential of generative AI, particularly LLMs like Claude by Anthropic, deployed via Amazon Bedrock, to automate personalized outreach including emails, social messages, and product recommendations. A real-world case is examined where a legacy, template-based system was upgraded to an AI-powered platform capable of tailoring messages using customer history and preferences. Cost and ROI analysis reveal improved efficiency, higher repeat purchases, and stronger customer relationships. The study also explores how LLMs analyze unstructured data for hyper-personalized journeys and addresses key implementation concerns such as CRM integration, data privacy, training, and bias. The paper concludes that genAI, when used ethically and strategically, enhances rather than replaces the human role in direct selling.
