Digital Business Ecosystems and Sustainable E-Commerce
Abstract
This study explores the intricate relationship between digital business ecosystems and the sustainability performance of e-commerce enterprises. Anchored in a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from a purposive sample of 284 digitally active organizations. Utilizing multiple linear regression, the analysis reveals that technological adoption, regulatory compliance adherence, and digital infrastructure are significant predictors of sustainability outcomes. Among these, technological adoption emerged as the most influential variable, followed by regulatory compliance and infrastructural readiness. Diagnostic indicators confirmed model robustness, minimal multicollinearity, and acceptable residual behavior. The findings underscore the imperative of synergistically integrating innovation, governance, and digital capacity to achieve ecologically and ethically sustainable commerce. Implications extend to organizational strategists, policymakers, and digital architects, emphasizing the need for coordinated ecosystemic planning rather than isolated digital interventions.
