Abstract

The labour market is undergoing a profound transformation driven by digitalisation, automation, and artificial intelligence, reshaping the relationship between organisations and highly qualified young professionals. New generations prefer flexibility, autonomy, mobility and meaningful work to traditional stability. This study examines five key dimensions of this shift: flexibility, professional independence, digital ethics, the role of professional platforms, and the impact of AI on talent management. Employment paths are increasingly fragmented and project-based, supported by digital platforms that boost visibility and personal branding but also intensify competition and inequalities. AI integration improves efficiency and personalisation but raises ethical concerns regarding bias, transparency, privacy, and autonomy. In Spain, post-pandemic trends reveal decentralisation of talent to mid-sized regions through remote work. The employment models must balance autonomy, protection, governance, and inclusivity, contributing to SDG 8 on decent work and growth.
