Abstract

This chapter explores the ethical dimensions of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into remote working environments. It examines how AI reshapes organizational structures, cultures, processes, and performance, stressing the need to balance technological efficiency with human dignity. The analysis underscores the transformation of managerial roles and the emergence of hybrid human-AI systems that challenge traditional notions of authority, accountability, and collaboration. Ethical concerns such as privacy, transparency, surveillance, and algorithmic bias are addressed as central to responsible AI adoption. The chapter concludes by proposing practical and research directions for building sustainable, human-centered, and ethically governed AI-enabled remote workplaces that support organizational innovation while preserving trust, wellbeing, and fairness across distributed teams.
