Abstract

Hybrid bioactive coatings for cancer therapy offer controlled drug delivery, targeted treatment, and multimodal therapeutic approaches. In this study, we analyzed functional performance metrics and clinical study parameters. Data from multiple reports were evaluated on the therapeutic efficacy and safety profile of hybrid coatings. Results demonstrated an improvement in drug loading efficiency from 40% to 85%. The controlled release durations spanning hours to weeks, enabling sustained therapeutic payloads. Targeting efficiency demonstrated a 2- to 5-fold increase in cancer cell uptake, accompanied by enhanced selective cytotoxicity. In vivo tumor volume reduction ranged from 30% to 60%, with combination photothermal or photodynamic treatments. The hybrid bioactive coatings significantly improve cancer treatment efficacy and safety, supporting their continued development and clinical translation. Hybrid coatings for cancer theranostics combine diagnostic imaging, targeted drug delivery, and therapeutic modalities within a single multifunctional platform.
