Abstract

This study models how employee engagement mechanisms produce organisational resilience and prioritises actionable levers using a combined Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping (FCM) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) approach with expert elicitation. FCM reveals a driver–sustainer cascade: communication, empathy and autonomy feed psychological safety, which enables collaborative culture and learning and culminates in adaptability, preparedness, learning orientation and psychological stability. ANP global priorities elevate Transparent Communication and Learning & Development as the top engagement levers, while Adaptability and Psychological Stability emerge as dominant resilience outcomes. Together, the methods converge on a practical sequencing: invest first in transparent communication and learning, secure psychological safety, and reinforce collaborative culture to maximise adaptability and stability in turbulent contexts.
