Abstract

Technological progress is vital for strong halal traceability across the food chain, from farm to consumer. The growing global halal market and consumer demand for transparency render traditional assurance insufficient. This chapter highlights the increasing need for sophisticated solutions to guarantee halal integrity. It introduces halal traceability and emphasizes how new technologies are revolutionizing its implementation towards verifiable and transparent systems, exceeding basic certification. The chapter comprehensively reviews these tech innovations and their impact on building a more secure halal ecosystem. Key areas include blockchain for secure records and supply chain visibility, IoT for real-time monitoring, and advanced sensors for quick halal checks. AI and ML for risk prediction are also discussed. The chapter analyzes the benefits and challenges of adopting these technologies, such as scalability and cost. Ultimately, it underscores technology's transformative potential in enhancing consumer trust, regulatory compliance, and the resilience of the halal food chain.
