Integrating Financial Education in Deaf Studies
Abstract
This study explores the relationships between access to financial education, financial self-efficacy, and financial empowerment within the Deaf community. Using structural equation modeling, the research identifies how financial education influences self-efficacy and, in turn, enhances financial empowerment. The findings reveal that increased access to financial education significantly improves financial self-efficacy (0.696) and has a moderate effect on financial empowerment (0.271). Additionally, financial self-efficacy strongly influences financial empowerment (0.458). Key indicators such as decision-making independence and control over financial situations show strong correlations with empowerment, highlighting the practical significance of financial literacy. The study emphasizes the need for tailored financial education programs, incorporating sign language support and accessibility, to foster self-efficacy and promote financial empowerment among Deaf individuals, ultimately leading to more equitable financial inclusion.
