Abstract

Creating inclusive classrooms for deaf and hard-of-hearing children requires intentional strategies that bridge communication gaps, address diverse learning needs, and promote equity. This chapter explores practical approaches to fostering inclusivity in childhood education through curriculum and instructional adaptations, multisensory learning experiences, and language and literacy development. Emphasis is placed on integrating sign language into literacy, adapting assessments to ensure fairness, and providing constructive feedback in multiple communication modes. Professional development and reflective practice are positioned as essential components for preparing teachers to embrace inclusive methods and technologies. This work underscores the need for collaborative, child-centered, and culturally responsive practices that empower all learners to achieve their full potential.
