Abstract

The lightning-fast incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into business education is an opportunity and a challenge. As AI improves personalisation, efficiency, and access, it also poses critical questions regarding the retention of human-focussed values like empathy, ethical thinking, and critical thinking. This chapter examines the emerging relationship between AI and humanistic learning in business education, promoting a balanced perspective that pushes the benefits of technology without losing the soul of learning. It describes the philosophical underpinnings of human-centred pedagogy, reviews existing AI applications within educational settings, and suggests a synergistic model in which AI serves as a complement to instead of a substitute for, human interaction. With careful curriculum planning, ethical embedding, and institutional alignment, the chapter imagines a future in which AI enhances, not subtracts, from the human experience of learning.
