Abstract

This chapter examines how generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is reshaping business education, challenging traditional notions of academic achievement, and prompting the need for authentic transformation. Drawing on the concept of ‘false achievement', it explores the risks of uncritical GenAI use and proposes a GenAI-Conscious Business Education framework. Four pedagogical shifts (process over product, inquiry over information, collaboration over competition, and ethics over expediency) are operationalised through ten applied strategies, including experiential learning, process-focused assessment, critical GenAI literacy, and pro-social engagement. These interconnected strategies aim to cultivate uniquely human capacities such as ethical reasoning, critical thinking, and reflective judgement, positioning GenAI as a catalyst for deeper, human-centred learning rather than a substitute for it. By aligning technological innovation with ethical and pedagogical priorities, authors outline how business schools can foster graduates prepared to lead responsibly in an AI-driven world.
