Abstract

The changing business education environment requires evaluation techniques that extend beyond conventional standardized testing. Developmental assessment alternatives are increasingly recognized for their ability to support critical thinking, deep learning and applied learning of business principles. This chapter explores various innovative approaches to assessment for business education with a focus on integrated evaluation methodologies that value continuous skill enhancement and refinement. Many subjects are taught in business education, such as marketing, finance, management, entrepreneurship, and organizational behavior. Exams and written reports are two of the traditional forms of assessment that often fail to measure aptitude in students' hands-on skills and adaptability in dynamic corporate environments. Thus, developmental assessment alternatives such as competency-based assessment, project-based evaluation, peer review, and experiential learning tasks are emerging as key tools for teachers. These methods persuade students to enhance their decision-making, problem-solving.
