Abstract

Molecules and Missions is a point-and-click strategy game that makes nanoscale science accessible through gamified learning. Set in a steampunk lab, players use virtual tools to explore cells, conduct experiments, and progress through campaigns. The chapter presents a citizen science proposal in which researchers can design downloadable content used so that players' results can be indicative of real experimentation. The project lowers barriers to molecular education, fosters critical thinking, and enables broader participation in pharmaceutical research.
