Abstract

Plant viral diseases cause severe yield and quality losses worldwide, and conventional control methods often fail due to viral evolution and environmental limits. Nanoparticles (NPs) offer novel antiviral solutions through unique properties enabling direct actions—such as blocking viral entry, disrupting capsids, and inducing ROS—and indirect actions by activating plant immunity and antioxidant defenses. Though promising, challenges include phytotoxicity, environmental risks, and scalability. Green-synthesized, biodegradable NPs integrated with precision agriculture hold potential for sustainable viral disease management.
