Abstract

As digital ecosystems expand, securing web-based systems becomes critical to safeguarding identity, trust, and resilience. This chapter presents a multi-layered cybersecurity architecture that integrates Zero Trust principles, SSL/TLS encryption, DevSecOps practices, and decentralized identity models. It emphasizes regulatory and ethical compliance, showcasing how secure architectures mitigate risks such as phishing, session hijacking, and data exfiltration without compromising scalability or user accessibility. Case studies from government and healthcare demonstrate real-world efficacy, with measurable improvements in breach prevention, trust metrics, and system performance. The chapter concludes with strategic recommendations and future research directions, advocating adaptive AI-driven security, privacy-preserving identity, and quantum-resilient frameworks. This comprehensive approach supports equitable and sustainable digital transformation in the web era.
