Abstract

Gastronomy tourism is a type of travel primarily motivated by visiting food production areas, food festivals, or restaurants to sample or experience local or regional cuisine. In recent years, culinary tourism has become a significant topic in tourism research, and promoting culinary tourism is increasingly crucial for the development of the global tourism industry. This article, from the perspective of visual information processing, specifically explores how AI-generated imagery and social media visuals influence tourists' perceptions and behaviors regarding food, including appetite, trust, and purchase intention. This research will help tourism marketers strengthen visual motivators, optimize food promotion strategies, enhance tourist engagement and trust, and promote the development of culinary tourism in the digital age towards healthier, more pragmatic, and sustainable directions.
