Abstract

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses an escalating threat to world health by diminishing the efficacy of common antibiotics. Antimicrobial timing, use, and placement must be carefully planned to combat AMR. These are crucial to advanced infection management. This chapter discusses clever nanocarriers that distribute antibiotics only when needed. These devices deliver medicine when infection is detected, improving treatment and saving waste. We examine how AI and advanced computer models are transforming smart nanocarrier design and utilization. These technologies help uncover better ways to distribute drugs that fight diseases, protect good bacteria, and speed up drug development. We do not randomly administer antibiotics and hope for efficacy. AI can help fight major diseases and resistance, according to the chapter. Novel nanocarriers composed of polymers, lipids, metals, or a combination of these materials can detect infection signals like pH, enzymes, and biofilms and deliver medication exactly to the targeted spot.
