Abstract

This chapter explores the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in recruitment processes, emphasizing both the opportunities it presents and the ethical challenges it raises. The purpose of this chapter is to examine how recruitment professionals perceive the value and impact of AI technologies in hiring. Drawing on qualitative research through semi-structured interviews with practitioners experienced in AI-assisted recruitment, the chapter highlights AI's ability to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and apply consistent criteria in candidate evaluation. However, it also discusses significant concerns, including algorithmic bias, lack of transparency, data protection issues, and the importance of maintaining human oversight. The findings underline that while AI can enhance recruitment practices, its implementation must adhere to ethical standards, legal requirements, and human-centered principles to ensure fairness, accountability, and trust in hiring decisions.
