A Scientometric Analysis of Gamification in Urbanism
Abstract
The Gamification Urbanism concept has grown in recent years, but can successfully be used for motivating and encouraging participation by people, specifically by players in decision-making. PRISMA protocol is applied for inclusion and exclusion of identified data extracted from the Scopus database and then analysed with the help of VOS viewer software. Keywords co-occurrence analysis generated six themes, whereas bibliographic coupling analysis has generated 6 clusters, which depicted the various concepts highlighted by the major researchers. Social and civic engagement in urban planning through a shared responsibility, by rewarding sustainability (walking, cycling, uses of public transport to minimise CO2 emissions), encouraging people to identify untapped urban areas, augmented reality (AR) tour to boost tourism industry, supporting evidence based urban planning and reward mechanism to turn sustainable habits to ingrained behaviour can be used as thought-provoking milestone.
