Abstract

Creativity is considered one of the most complex human competences/abilities or behaviors. As sociologists, we consider creativity as a considerable factor in humanity's welfare, in terms of sense of fulfilment and happiness. We believe that social well-being, going hand in hand with the creative realization of one's purpose, is a two-way process. So, there are two factors that influence the enrichment of life: firstly, the state and conditions for creativity, which determines the feeling of inner satisfaction, and; secondly, the individual realization of one's own destiny and the socialization of an inner ‘gift', i.e. abilities and talent. In this chapter we dive into the basic definitions of creativity and its theories, social conditions and beneficial, as well as hindering factors. The authors consider the ability of being creative as one of the main mental health conditions factors, as well as the opportunity to contact with art in all the ways during time of being disabled in the hospital as beneficial factor for mental health. The authors consider that environment can be supportive to creativity and suppressive and that each organization (hospitals included) can help the creative potential to unfold, creating a proper environment – the authors call them socially harmonious (laminar, favorable) conditions for creativity, or suppress it by social rules and norms, we call them socialization unfavorable (conflict, turbulent) factors of creativity.
