Abstract

In our fast-paced digital age, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has transformed into a more strategic concept known as ESG. Nowadays, Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a pivotal role in how businesses operate and govern themselves, allowing for real-time accountability regarding ethics and sustainability. This chapter delves into the relationship between CSR and AI ethics, particularly through the lenses of Human Resources (HR) and Finance. It references important frameworks like Carroll's CSR Pyramid, the Triple Bottom Line, and the Corporate AI Responsibility framework. Through various case studies, we see how AI is applied in HR—especially in recruitment—and in Finance, with a focus on ESG reporting. While AI does come with challenges such as data privacy, security, and reliability, when used thoughtfully, it can foster stakeholder trust and enhance risk management. The chapter emphasizes the transition from CSR to ethical AI, highlighting the necessity for responsible AI in a world that values transparency and sustainability.
