Abstract

The intersection of digital transformation and environmental governance has become a growing area of research, especially in relation to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) integration. This study conducts a bibliometric synthesis of literature published between 2021 and 2025, with emphasis on ESG integration and beyond-compliance strategies. A systematic search using Google Scholar with relevant keywords was combined with bibliometric analysis through VOSviewer, employing co-occurrence mapping, citation analysis, and cluster identification. The results reveal six major clusters: digital technology innovation and green governance, ESG performance measurement, environmental policy and regulation, emerging technology applications, proactive environmental strategies, and sustainability assessment frameworks. Findings indicate that digital transformation functions as both an enabler and a driver of proactive governance, shifting organizations beyond compliance toward sustainable value creation.
