Abstract

This chapter presents a systematic review that shows a technology-oriented e-waste governance framework emphasizes the use of technology to oversee the entire lifecycle of electronics—from manufacturing to disposal—through policies such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), fostering a circular economy, and employing technology for collection and recycling. Essential elements encompass implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) to ensure manufacturer accountability, promoting a circular economy that emphasizes repairability and recyclability, and utilizing modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence, for electronic waste processing. This strategy integrates legislative measures, technological advancements, and economic incentives to reduce environmental damage and reclaim valuable resources.
