Abstract

This chapter aims to synthesise conceptual progress in Net Zero Human Resource Management (HRM) published between 2019 and 2025. Moreover, it examines how green employment, training, and performance appraisal are integrated with upper-level green governance policies to facilitate low-carbon organizational management approaches. Fifty articles were selected from an initial total of 578 records according to the PRISMA guidelines. Citation chaining and query transformation were used to include recent empirical studies, with a particular focus on those from emerging economies. This review shows a positive relationship between green human capital and green recruitment and training. By contrast, the green performance appraisal process is far more problematic for a variety of reasons, not least ongoing measurement difficulties.
