Abstract

The convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and human augmentation is redefining the global workforce, shifting the focus from automation toward collaboration and skill complementarity. This chapter explores how reskilling becomes a strategic imperative in preparing workers for an AI-augmented future. By examining theoretical models, cross-industry applications, and organizational strategies, it highlights the evolution from traditional to hybrid skills and the need for adaptive, inclusive learning cultures. The chapter further discusses ethical, educational, and policy implications while proposing a future research agenda to sustain human relevance and creativity in an AI-driven world. Ultimately, it argues that human–AI augmentation, when supported by strategic reskilling, can empower a more resilient, innovative, and equitable workforce.
