Flipped Learning Empowering Students Through Digital Innovation
Abstract
One major deviation from traditional teaching approaches is flipped learning, sometimes known as the inverted classroom paradigm. Under this method, the conventional wisdom—that of lecturing in class and assigning homework for solo study—is flipped. In-class time is instead devoted to discussions, active learning exercises, and hands-on activities while educational materials—texts, movies, or interactive modules—are distributed outside of the classroom. Fundamentally, flipped learning seeks to maximize in-person teaching time by means of interesting, dynamic activities promoting a better knowledge and application of ideas. There are several elements cooperating to establish a good learning environment. The core of the flipped learning model is the change from passive information absorption to active participation in the learning process.
