Abstract

This chapter examines how teacher education programs can effectively update their curricula to incorporate remote teaching techniques, thus preparing candidates for the realities of modern, technology-integrated classrooms. It outlines the essential competencies required for effective online instruction and offers strategies for integrating these into coursework, clinical experiences, and assessment systems. The chapter on post-pandemic innovations highlights virtual placements, digital mentorship models, and performance-based assessments tailored for hybrid learning environments. Special attention is given to equity, accessibility, and culturally sustaining pedagogy in digital spaces. By framing remote teaching as a permanent component of teacher readiness, rather than a temporary solution, this chapter offers a roadmap for sustainable curricular implementations. Practical recommendations are provided for faculty and program leaders seeking to build resilient, future-ready teacher preparation programs that succeed amid changing educational environments.
