Abstract

The Industrial Revolution has continually shaped supply chain management (SCM), with the fourth revolution introducing technologies like IoT, blockchain, and AI to enhance efficiency, security, and transparency. This chapter explores how these technologies address challenges in healthcare SCM, such as inventory mismanagement, delivery delays, and counterfeit drugs. AI enables predictive analytics for demand forecasting and logistics optimization. Blockchain provides secure, transparent data sharing, ensuring traceability. IoT allows real-time monitoring of inventory and cold chain conditions. Case studies highlight practical applications of these innovations. Despite hurdles like high costs and data privacy concerns, the integration of AI, IoT, and blockchain promises a more resilient, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare ecosystem.
