Abstract

Artificial intelligence is increasingly applied to environmental sustainability, yet research often treats agriculture, water management, and biodiversity conservation as separate domains. This chapter argues that AI can support integrated environmental resilience by enabling data-driven decision-making across these interconnected systems. It introduces a conceptual framework linking food production, water governance, and ecosystem protection through environmental informatics, machine learning, and geospatial analytics. The chapter reviews key applications in precision agriculture, hydrological forecasting, intelligent irrigation, and AI-based biodiversity monitoring, while examining how these tools support climate adaptation, resource efficiency, and ecosystem management. It also evaluates limitations including data bias, infrastructure gaps, and governance challenges. The chapter concludes that responsible, cross-sector AI can strengthen coordinated climate action and sustainable environmental management.
