Abstract

The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in hiring revolutionizes talent acquisition with enhanced efficiency and creativity. AI tools allow HRD departments to accurately sift through data, automate screening, forecast candidate success, and assess compatibility, streamlining recruitment and enabling a focus on strategic decisions. However, AI integration in hiring also highlights the issue of bias. AI systems can perpetuate biases from their training data, risking workforce inequalities. Biases in hiring algorithms can also hinder diversity and inclusion, restricting the talent pool. This chapter examines the dual impact of AI in recruitment, emphasizing the need to address and mitigate biases to foster diverse and inclusive workplaces that drive innovation and performance. It concludes with suggestions for future research.
