Abstract

Climate change poses a major environmental challenge of the 21st century, causing long-term shifts in climate patterns that affect agriculture. This includes changes in temperature, rainfall, and carbon dioxide levels, which impact plant growth, crop yields, and food security. In India, where agriculture is vital to the economy and employs a large workforce, climate change exacerbates issues like rainfall dependence and crop profitability. To combat these challenges, India must integrate adaptation and mitigation strategies, including climate-smart agriculture and enhanced weather data. Collaboration among policymakers, researchers, and farmers is crucial to improve resilience and ensure sustainable food production and economic security.
