Abstract

In recent years, university students with developmental disabilities have encountered greater difficulties in securing employment. This chapter presents the results of a survey of career centers at 751 universities across the country to determine what learning contents are considered essential for preparing students for employment. Analysis of the career center's expectations of the relevant institutions, both inside and outside the university, as students learn these content areas will be conducted. Based on these results, we will examine how the university's career center can play a role in supporting students with developmental disabilities in cooperation with related organizations both on and off campus.
