Factors Affecting the Intention to Use Mobile Healthcare Applications in Vietnam
Abstract
In the era of strong digital transformation, mobile healthcare (mHealth) applications have quickly become an indispensable part of the healthcare industry. This study aims to clarify the consumers' intended use of mHealth applications. The study expanded the stimulus-organism-response model with key features of mobile technology. Survey data from 306 Vietnamese mobile users was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results showed that the intention to use mHealth applications was influenced by economic benefit, seamless transaction, perception, and interaction barriers. In addition, the study also showed that compatibility affected economic benefit and seamless transactions; similarly, complexity affected perception and interaction barriers. Finally, the ubiquity of mobile technology affected all four cognitive factors mentioned above. These findings provide significant insights into how mobile technology features influence the intention to use mHealth applications. The results enable enterprises to formulate targeted strategies by leveraging an understanding of how these features shape consumer perceptions.
