Abstract

In this study, the authors examine the role of technology in the documentation and preservation of cultural heritage within the Temuan indigenous community in Malaysia. Adopting a qualitative case study approach, the authors collected data through documentary footage, semi-structured interviews, and participatory observation and analyzed the data using NVivo. The findings revealed five key themes: cultural connection to the land, craftsmanship, spiritual practices, intergenerational knowledge transfer, and education as a preservation tool. The results highlighted the complementary roles of elders, community leaders, and educators in sustaining cultural identity. Technology, particularly drone videography and multimedia storytelling, enhances methodological rigor through triangulation and supports the preservation of intangible heritage. The authors contributed a technology-mediated, multi-actor framework and demonstrated alignment with sustainable development goals 4, 10, 11, and 15, with implications for education, heritage tourism, and policy.
