Coupling Evaluation of Mineral Res, Eco-Environment, and Sustainable Economy in Guizhou With PCA and CA
Abstract
Guizhou, a mineral-rich region in China, faces conflicts between resource depletion, eco-environment damage, and sustainable economic growth due to large-scale exploitation. This study evaluates their coupling coordination, constructing an index system for the three subsystems, then applying PCA to calculate city/prefecture scores and CA to classify development capabilities. Results show Guiyang (5.4316) and Liupanshui (3.1475) exhibit strong coupling, supported by high education investment and mature models, while Qiannan (0.4429) lags due to weak mining technology and eco-protection. Conclusions highlight targeted measures: upgrading technology in resource-rich areas (e.g., Qiannan), increasing ecological restoration investment, and establishing a coordination mechanism.
