Abstract

Cultural heritage research often faces fragmented data that hinders knowledge integration. This study develops a knowledge management framework to address this, combining data governance with a semantic knowledge graph to transform disparate archaeological records into linked, actionable knowledge. Applying the framework to Jiahu bone flute data revealed a significant high-pitch evolution in later periods (p < 0.05) and identified strong cultural–knowledge linkages between major Neolithic sites. By ensuring data provenance and enabling semantic querying, the framework converts heterogeneous data into a traceable knowledge system. This work provides a scalable model for heritage knowledge management, supporting interdisciplinary discovery and analysis of cultural transmission.
