Reaching New Heights: Innovative Strategies for Fast-Track Offshore Development
Abstract
Abstract Showcase Terubuk project reaching new heights in fast-track offshore development in a marginal field, from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to Ready for Start-Up (RFSU), achieved through innovative EPCI project management strategies and the integration of sustainable technologies for unmanned Wellhead Platforms (WHPs). Located in Block B of the South Natuna Sea, Terubuk aimed to monetize 61.5 BSCF of gas and 4.2 MMBO of oil before the end of the 2028 Production Sharing Contract (PSC). The development included two unmanned Minimum Facility Platform (MFP) WHP-L and WHP-M, producing 6,600 BOPD and 60 MMSCFD, connected via a 45 km pipeline to the existing Belida Central Processing Platform (CPP). The project applied a structured seven-step problem-solving framework to overhaul conventional EPCI strategies. Key innovations included the early & accelerated FEED and Detailed Engineering Design (DED), modular EPCI contracts under
