Abstract

Rhinosporidiosis is a chronic granulomatous infection of the mucous membranes caused by Rhinosporidium seeberi . In cases of oculosporidiosis, the conjunctiva is most commonly affected, followed by the lacrimal sac. Orbital involvement is extremely rare and represents an atypical presentation as the orbit is a closed cavity with limited direct exposure to the pathogen. We present a rare case of orbital rhinosporidiosis in a 12-year-old child, which clinically mimicked orbital cellulitis but was ultimately diagnosed through histopathological examination.
