Message from Hon. Treasurer
Abstract
Dear Colleagues, It is a privilege to be associated with the January 2026 issue of the Indian Journal of Psychiatry devoted to the theme “Clinical Practice Guidelines: 2026 Update.” Clinical Practice Guidelines represent a critical synthesis of the best available evidence, expert consensus, and contextual clinical considerations. Periodic revision of these guidelines is imperative in view of ongoing advances in psychiatric research, evolving treatment paradigms, emerging socio-cultural, and service delivery challenges. Updated guidelines play a central role in enhancing the quality, consistency, and accountability of psychiatric care. This themed issue reflects a rigorous and systematic effort by the Contributing experts, and the Editorial Board to provide contemporaneous, methodologically sound, and clinically applicable recommendations. I am confident that these updated guidelines will serve as an authoritative reference for clinicians, educators, trainees, and will contribute meaningfully to evidence-based psychiatric practice in India. I congratulate the all contributors for their scholarly commitment and commend the Indian Journal of Psychiatry for its continued leadership in academic psychiatry. Yours sincerely
