Post-Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy Urine Leak Due to a Misplaced Clip Causing Ureteric Kink
Abstract
Abstract Urine leak following laparoscopic partial nephrectomy is a known complication. Ensuring adequate drainage of the ureter is sufficient to control urine leak. This is a case report of a 36-year-old male who underwent laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for a renal hilar tumor. He had a urine leak from a calyceal rent. On examination, with contrast-enhanced computed tomogram, he had ureteric obstruction due to a clip causing a ureteric kink. Removing the clip by laparoscopy was sufficient for the management of ureteric obstruction and leak. This case report highlights the possible complications of a misplaced clip in partial nephrectomy and its management.
