The Effects of Mind Sound Resonance Technique (MSRT) on Anxiety, Sleep Quality, and Quality of Life in Adults: A Systematic Review Protocol
Abstract
Mind Sound Resonance Technique (MSRT) is a structured yogic intervention that uses specific sound vibrations and meditative awareness to promote psychological well-being. Increasingly applied in clinical and wellness contexts, MSRT is being explored for its potential benefits in reducing anxiety, improving sleep quality, and enhancing quality of life. However, evidence remains fragmented and lacks comprehensive synthesis. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effects of MSRT on anxiety, sleep quality, and overall quality of life in adults by synthesizing data from randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The review will follow PRISMA-P guidelines and is registered with PROSPERO (CRD42025646661). Databases including MEDLINE (via PubMed), Embase, CENTRAL, and PsycINFO will be searched for English-language RCTs published up to December 2024. Eligible studies must evaluate MSRT in adult populations (≥18 years), with or without clinical diagnoses, against no intervention, waitlist, or active controls. Primary outcomes include changes in anxiety (e.g., GAD-7, STAI), sleep quality (e.g., PSQI), and quality of life (e.g., WHOQOL-BREF). Risk of bias will be assessed using the Cochrane RoB 2 tool. Data will be synthesized narratively and meta-analyzed when feasible. This review will inform researchers, clinicians, and policymakers on MSRT's efficacy as a complementary therapy in integrative mental health care.
