Abstract

We appreciate the reader’s interest and valuable comments regarding our article, “Headlight in the fog” fundus appearance: Is just a sign and not a conclusion. Firstly, we would like to clarify that we did not report globe rupture, nor was any evidence of globe rupture observed during the surgery. In response to the query about the presence of Roth spots and the suggestion to rule out leukemia and infective endocarditis: The patient had no history of fever or systemic symptoms suggestive of infective endocarditis. The ECG showed normal sinus cardiac activity. Cardiac colour doppler was performed, which did not show any signs of infective endocarditis A complete blood count and peripheral smear were performed, which showed normal white cell counts (7.1 th/cumm) with no abnormal cells or hemiparasites. The peripheral smear also showed no indications of leukemia. Thank you for the opportunity to clarify. Financial support and sponsorship Nil.
