Data supporting the publication: Effect of floating wind turbine wakes on the thrust dynamics of a downstream turbine
Abstract
This dataset provides the volumetric wake of a 1:148 scaled horizontal-axis floating wind turbine subjected to platform motions. It includes force balance measurements in all six degrees of freedom of the downstream turbine. The dataset covers the near to mid-wake region, from 2 to 5 rotor diameters downstream, and includes a fixed condition and surging and pitching motions at frequencies typical of platform rigid-body modes and higher wave-induced frequencies. The dataset provides a benchmark for validating numerical simulations and for advancing understanding of rotor–wake interactions in floating wind applications. In the README file, information about the data is reported, including: parameters of the test cases, data variables, data file naming, reference system, and more.
