Abstract

This webinar is part of the ongoing educational series developed by the European Hematology Association (EHA) Scientific Working Group (SWG) Infections in Hematology. The SWG brings together clinicians, researchers, microbiologists, and infectious disease specialists to advance knowledge, improve clinical practice, and strengthen collaboration in the field of infection management for hematology patients. In this session, Katia Perruccio provides an overview of HHV 6 reactivation and disease in the context of stem cell transplantation. She outlines the virological and clinical features of HHV 6, highlights risk factors and diagnostic challenges, and discusses current approaches to management. The presentation emphasizes timely recognition, appropriate monitoring, and the importance of understanding HHV 6–related complications in transplant recipients.
