Abstract

Joe just went to the barber’s. As a long-time customer, he greeted the barber and they shook hands. Joe sat in the chair, allowed the barber to put a towel around his neck and said, “A clean shave on top please, and the usual beard fade.” Half an hour later he got up and paid at the register. Later, Joe would sign up for a food delivery service. First, he was asked to consent to the use of cookies. This was annoying. He went through the list and ticked “No” to everything except essential cookies. Then he could finally access the website, where he signed up for the service and agreed to the terms and conditions without reading them. Joe’s friend, Sam, comes to the door and he invites her inside. Sam has come to borrow Joe’s bike for the weekend.
