Abstract

This chapter continues exploring some of the distinctive features of intromersivity and ludonarrativity, specifically by comparing these against the more familiar film and television media. Returning to the idea of decadence, if film and television are suffering from convergence and “content” problems, do videogames also suffer from these? Further, this chapter explores other functions of videogames as photographic and cinematographic machines, where the rhapsodic model of storytelling also functions in image-making.
