Virtual Crystal Ball
Abstract
The crystal ball technique first discussed by Erickson and later modified by de Shazer has been an effective method to support client focus on a future without the “problem.” This intervention is likened to the miracle question used by solution-focused therapists with many published variations. This chapter expands on Bertolino’s variation of the activity to explain how to conduct the crystal ball intervention via teletherapy ( The therapist’s notebook for families. Routledge, 2016).
