Abstract

Scavenger hunts have been used to support in-person therapy intervention for decades. They are also well-suited for teletherapy due to the simplicity of instructions, lack of advanced preparation required, and lack of specific required materials. This chapter outlines ways that this intervention can be used to playfully gather critical assessment data regarding presenting problems, feelings, communication, differentiation, and culture. Through processing using prompts provided, therapists may also learn about family structure, power, roles, and other family dynamics.
