Abstract

The gender-celebratory safe relationships genogram is a therapeutic tool intended for the assessment of relationships in which the client’s gender is either affirmed and celebrated or not affirmed or celebrated. Through identification of these relationships, therapists and clients may discuss and develop coping strategies to bolster self-worth and relational skills for navigating ambivalent and rejecting relationships. This chapter describes an adaptation of this in-person intervention for use through telehealth using an online whiteboard or drawing application when working with transgender and nonbinary adolescents.
